A note from the artist

How I practice self-care daily is by painting and creating art after work. I work as a Master level medical social worker in an inner-city hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan. Some days are quite stressful, but I find so much comfort and healing in art and creating. I was inspired by Wendy’s poorly painted pigs which are not poorly painted at all. (They are amazing!) I decided I wanted to try to draw and create pig art for the first time. Two of the prints are hand drawn and the other two I created a stencil and cutout design. I always use recycled scrap paper that I get from work or around my house from boxes or other things. Then I added the twist of what I paint a lot. Called confetti backgrounds. (Utilizing various color of pencils, watercolor paint, brush pens, and markers.) I created the pigs then added my confetti in the background. I want to spread compassion around like confetti. Confetti tends to get all over and I hope that my artwork might touch someone and be that confetti effect and touch others. They get to know more about Odd Man Inn and see pigs and other animals as sentient beings. 

I am so proud to be able to support Odd Man Inn. This organization is incredible and watching Tennessee blossom from where it once was. Simply amazing thank you all for all you do for the animals and spreading your message of compassion.
