About Sid the Swamp Pig
Sid is a Mangalitsa — a Hungarian sheep pig, the rare breed with long curly hair. He was found as a stray by the Kitsap Humane Society in Washington, who'd placed him in a foster home until OMI could pick him up. The team showed up in a Honda Element expecting something Guinea-Hog-sized; they discovered a 400-pound floofball who wasn't even fully grown yet, and had to drive home for a truck and trailer.
Today Sid lives with his favorite crew of Washington original pigs in the Northwest Neighborhood. He is a rototiller of a pig, a master swamp maker, and walks around with a continuous assortment of twigs and dirt nestled into his fancy hairdo. One of only two Mangalitsas at the sanctuary — the other is Annabelle, the white-floof one.
