“Portrait of the First Sanctuary Founder” (Artist Unknown, c. 1913?!)

“Portrait of the First Sanctuary Founder” (Artist Unknown, c. 1913?!)

Presented by the Ferals

When Big Boss Charity’s sculptural MASTERPIECE, an oversized mudball worthy of a true alpha, was “selected” as the Feral Neighborhood’s auction item, spirits were high. Word on the street was that it was poised to be the pièce de résistance of the entire Art Crawl.

But when Charity’s original art mysteriously vanished (or was stolen...as art by the greatest artists often is), the Ferals did what they do best: they got scrappy.

Under the BOSS’s guidance, they raided Wendy’s private collection like Mr. Martini raids the Bus Stops at mealtime. That’s where they unearthed this gem: a dust-covered portrait of a stern woman and her equally serious pig friend, frozen in time behind convex glass and an aggressively ornate frame. No name, no date… just the unmistakable no-BS energy of someone who’s been running a sanctuary since before it was cool.

The Ferals now insist this woman was the world’s FIRST sanctuary founder. She wasn’t one for smiling in portraits, but she was clearly well ahead of her time in pig rescue.

Are they wrong? Has this been fact-checked? Who’s to say. Whatever it takes to get our pink friends the sunscreen they need to be healthy, right? 😉
